The tinsel and fairy lights have been packed away until next December, but we are still basking in the afterglow of a fabulous festive season at Mainstream Mall.
You didn’t need to leave the Bay to do your Christmas shopping, as our retailers really pulled out the stops with some of the best festive gifts, décor, and food products we’ve seen.
The kids holiday program was taken up a notch from previous years, easing the load for busy parents as they went about their festive season shopping. Every day from 16 until 21 December we had a host of kids joining us at the Amphitheatre, where we created a safe space with a new sign-in-sign-out service at a low cost of R30 per child for 3 hours of fun.
We had a great line up of fun-filled arts and crafts and entertainment from Christmas decoration-making and canvas painting, to bubble blowing, treasure hunts, puppet and magic shows, and science experiments. Father Christmas also paid us a visit each day with sweets for the kids, which was very well received.
A cherry on the top of a fantastic week was our carols by Candlelight led by the choir from the New Apostolic Church of Hout Bay.
