With Pick n Pay having had a successful opening during December 2014 together with most of the neighbouring line shops (the balance of which should open during January 2015) focus will now be on constructing the long-awaited and stunning pedestrian bridge over the Baviaanskloof River.
This iconic bridge will add a further pedestrianised link between the Midpoint building (in which Pick n Pay and its line shops are located) and the Mainstream Mall precincts, which comprise Passageway, Fisherman’s World and Mainstream Mall itself.
The two other bridges which presently connect these shopping precincts will also be upgraded to wholly complete this phase of the Midpoint development.
And while all of this is happening, landscaping of the Baviaanskloof River’s southern bank continues, to match the landscaping on its northern bank.
Regarding letting opportunities at Midpoint, only one small 30 sq metre shop remains, ostensibly reserved for a nail salon, beauty parlour, shoe boutique or type of tenant not yet trading at Mainstream Mall. This is besides a few opportunities at Mainstream Mall for similar-type tenants and/or one larger tenant of between 200 and 250 sq metres.
